Girls night ~

I don't have children.  The human kind, that is.

Probably going to upset some folks here but, I don't really like kids.

Coming from a huge family and then raising my 4 Nieces, I'm done.

We highly value our peace & quiet.

Never wanted kids.

Just not into kids.

There is 1 exception to this.

My Niece, Caeleigh.

She is the coolest kid I know.

She loves science, video games, techno music, girlie stuff, the color red, rainbows. Not to mention, she's so smart.  It boggles my mind sometimes the things this kid says.

We were supposed to have a sleepover last weekend, but my kids {the furry ones} got sick and we had to postpone things.

So, this weekend was our make-up sleepover.

We had a blast.

 We did mani's & pedi's.

We both crashed pretty early, which isn't how we roll normally.  Normally, we stay up as late as possible eating popcorn and watching movies.  Usually, "Spy Kids" or "Strawberry Shortcake".

This morning, we had a blast making rainbow waffles.

They turned out awesome.

I just mixed up the waffle batter, as usual.  Then, split it up into 6 bowls and we colored it.

Cutest helper, ever.

I scooped a spoonful of each color into the waffle maker. Then, we topped them with berry butter, maple syrup and sprinkles.

Then, we took some pretty pictures of her.

Some of her hair is, pink.  Used to be red, her favorite color.

It rained.  Oh, glorious rain.

She chose to go see "Ice Age"... in 3D.

I love this kid.

We had a blast.

XOXO

I Love my own kids, more than anything else in the world - but I don't like other kids (for that matter, I don't think they like me either) BUT, yeah, there's always a BUT, my only brother lives in Australia - he has 2 lovely daughters, one is 12 {saw her last 10 years ago} and the other is 7 or 8 {never even met her} - must say I really would've loved spending some time with them especially now that Dimitri is 20 and Cheri 18.
Stay cool and enjoy your niece!

Those waffles are super rad! It looks like you have a wonderful time with your niece. I'm right there with you when it comes to kids. Some of them are ok but I don't want any of my own. I'll stick to dogs. :)

    How fun!
I've been content being the fun/cool aunt so far, too. :)
I have six nieces and nephews, but only get to see two nieces ever since the two oldest are all grown up and the other two live in Seattle.

I'm sure Caeleigh will LOVE having such a great relationship with her aunt as she gets older! :)

Please don't worry about not liking kids. I wish more people would be honest and "take precaution" who felt the same way. So many bear children out of guilt. Kudos to you.

Your neice is gorgeous. We have 4 and the third (3) is leaving the next Friday for the Army. The last one is going to a local College. He'll be out in 2 years. I'm looking forward to Peace and Quiet. I'm a bit of a Helicopter Mom in Rehab ... :)

Seeing your mani pedi reminded me "the paws" need attention. Thanks

    Love your Blog!!
