Hey lovies! Happy Friday!!
I hope you have some fun plans!
Good news all around.
We finally got some decent rain yesterday here in the SLC.
The sickies are doing much, much better!
I never, ever want to do that again.
Last week, I scored something I've wanted for a long, long time. And I got it for a song.
I scored an old, chippy wooden ladder! 8 feet long too! Guess how much???
$10
Yep.
The angels sang.
I was going to put it in my kitchen, like Anne from White Lace Cottage, but it's pretty long and darned heavy. I decided to use it in the living room to store some of our extra blankies.
I love how perfectly aged this is. I also love the heavy, rusty metal portion at the top:
Delicious, chippy... perfection.
Leaned a chalkboard basket full of pretty magazines on one rung.
I'm pretty darned excited about this beauty.
Working on a couple other small projects that involve some seriously fun colors of spray paint and a table set I found at a local yard sale. Why can't paint dry like... instantly?!?
I can't wait to show you.
Have a fun weekend babies!
XOXO
That's a pretty rad find and a great idea for storing blankets. :)
ReplyWow that is a fantastic find! I love it!!!
ReplyLove that weathered finish. What a conversation piece.
ReplyGreat find Meg- and looks gorgeous in your living room - I have one I got to put in my kitchen.
ReplyBut with your luck, be careful that it doesn't come crashing down - maybe you'd better secure it lol
Hugs,
Moi

I am GREEN with envy - I've been looking for something similar for a long time {for the kids' bathroom}. Love the idea for all the blankets - we are in the middle of Winter and just can not see a reason to drag our blankets from lounge to room and back everyday, so it's all over the lounge.Enjoy and have a great weekend, Nutty!

awesome! I love that you're using the ladder as blanket storage - and that you called them "blankies" (i totally do that too!)
ReplyGlad to hear the kitties are on the mend! <3
I love it!It makes the house seem warm & inviting.Don't change it out for something else ever! This is what the house really needed. It makes it feel like the houses of old.
ReplyIt's gorgeous, Meg! I just bought a 6' stepladder - all old chippy gray and white paint and am loving it - doesn't have a permanent home yet though.
ReplyI was so excited to find my old ladder as well,,,6ft tho, 10 bucks too! Going to lean it against the bathroom wall for towels, may put a few hooks or nails to hang other bathroom necessities it may need....how fun!!
