All Star Block Party #34 ~

WHEW!!

Howdy babies!!

Quick Thank You to all who emailed me about my cry for help.

I went to the Dr today and I've got Contact Dermatitis AND Rosacea.

Drew is picking up my RX from the pharmacy on his way home.  The Dr says it could take 2-6 weeks to go away.  Such a BUMMER!!

If anyone has any suggestions of what could help calm the red & burning, that would be great!

Then, I came home and shoveled TOO many inches of snow!  ARGH!!

Anyway, enough whining, and onto the party!

This weeks features are:

Phaedra does it again!  What do you do with your leftover candy canes from Christmas?
This!!  I have boxes of these!  GREAT idea!!

Look at this amazing Cane Chair re-do from Danielle at Shades of Serenity!
I love, love, LOVE this!  Well done!!

Kathe With an E shared these Snow Capped Lemon Puffs.  She had me at 'lemon'!!
Easy and I'm SURE delicious!!

If you were featured, grab a button:

We've got even more snow forecasted for tomorrow, and I'm just DONE with it! I want SPRING!

Okay, whiney boobie Meg is going to watch Downton now... that makes everything better.

HELP!! ~

Ok babies.

I need your help.

Last week, during the afternoon, I noticed a bright red 'rash' on the right side of my face.

I asked my Facebook friends what I should do.  They suggested some Benadryl cream or something similar.

Well, it's still there.

I'm beginning to think it's actually a breakout.

I've never had anything like this.  It's hot and sensitive.

Yikes.

I've used Purity Made Simple by Philosophy for years with no problems.

What do you suggest to get this to settle down and clear up??

Boo.

XOXO

Valentines French Toast ~

Hiya there babies!

I hope you're having a lovely weekend!

Now, I really don't decorate for Valentines Day.

No mantles, banners, crafty things with the words 'Love' on them.

Nope.  Not really my bag.

But today, just for funsies, I thought I'd show Drew how much I love him by making has all-time favorite breakfast, with a romantic twist.

All you need:

  • 6 eggs
  • about 1 cup milk (some folks use cream or half & half)
  • couple tbsp vanilla
  • a good sprinkling of apple pie spice
beat it all together.

I cut out the bread using a large cookie cutter:

Soak the bread pieces in the milk & egg mixture until soaked through.  Then fry them in a skillet with plenty of butter.  Serve with more melted butter and maple syrup.  Also, don't forget the sprinkling of jimmies to make this a well rounded meal!

It was pouring rain this morning and Zeus the Foster Muppet was mesmerized.
Maybe he's never seen rain before.

He loved it.

He was neutered yesterday and didn't miss a beat.
He weighs 5 lbs 3 oz at 11 weeks old.
Can we say "Ginormous"??
He's going to his forever home very soon, and I will cry.

In the meantime, we will enjoy him and love him.

Made with love.

Happy Valentines Day!
XOXO

Happiness List #23 ~

Howdy babies!

It's time for another episode of 'Meg's Happiness List'!

First though, let's get something out of the way.

I love Scentsy.

I love good smelling things.

This is embarrassing.

We are having respiratory issues in our house.

So, as difficult as it was, I sold my stash.

We stopped counting at 150 pieces.

Good Lord.

It was distressing, but the health of my family is far more important.

Okay, I feel better getting that out there.

So, happy stuff!!

Beadboard wallpaper.

I think you all get how much I love this stuff.

LOVE!!

My good friend, Nancy, left this GORGEOUS Pottery Barn duvet cover on my porch for my birthday.  *SQUEE*

Look at the little bees!!

Pear & Prosciutto pizza.
Heaven on a plate.

Beautiful pieces or art by my sweet friend, Carmella.
I'm obsessed.

Sweet notes from my husband.

<3

Clothes that are getting too baggy.

:-)

Cute shoes.

Pay no attention to the scrapes and scabs.

I'm not very graceful.

Zeus, the foster Muppet.
We are going to miss him when he goes home soon.

My tiny, newly bright and happy powder room.

Finally, the thing I am happiest about right now.

You all know how strung out I've been worrying about the health of this muffin.
So scared, that I didn't want to go to the vet because I was sure it would be the worst possible scenario.
Well, I got my courage up and took her into our vet Monday evening.

I was sure it was heart failure or... lung cancer.
Turns out, Brandy Pants has a mild lung infection.
I broke down in tears of joy once I got home that night.
She is on a 2 week round of antibiotics and will be just fine.
She's feral.
Ever tried to pill a feral cat?
Yeah.
But, all things considered, we're happy to do it.

Tune in next time!

XOXO

All Star Block Party #33 ~

Hiya babies!

It's that time again!

I must say, I had a little rant on Facebook today.  I get so fed up with the 'big time' bloggers HIRING out on their so called 'projects'.  What a waste of our time.  I want to see what YOU create!  And that leads me to tell you... YOU rock!  Every week I look through all your submissions and I'm blown away by your talents and creativity.  YOU inspire me!!  I'm done reading those big blogs.  It's a waste of my time.  I'd much rather read yours and be inspired!

Enough ranting!  :-)

Let's see what inspired me this week:

Julianne at Sew Fantastic shared this darling Valentines Day art.  I would keep it up all year!  And it's SO easy too!  I think this is a good one for Merry to work on

Lisa at {Createinspire}shared this amazing claw-foot desk she gave a makeover to.
I mean, dreamy.  Look at the legs on her!

Stacy at Stacy Sews and Schools shared the tute for this ADORABLE Orange Crush dress.
Maybe it's cause the weather is so dreary and this dress is so happy, maybe it's because her model is darling... maybe I want one in my size.  :-P

GYCO ~ Pear and Prosciutto pizza

Oh yeah,
It's that time again,

Our entry is: Pear & Prosciutto Pizza

And I'm just gonna say, this pizza is divine.
After we scarfed it down, Drew told me this is his favorite.
Even better than my calzone.
He said I could quote him on it.

Pear & Proscuitto Pizza:

  • Prepared pizza crust {I used individual size, but you can use the large size just as well}
  • 3 sliced pears {I used bosc}
  • Alfredo sauce
  • Feta cheese {crumbled]
  • Mozarella cheese {shredded}
  • Arugula

Preheat the oven to 450.  Place the pizza crusts on a parchment lined baking sheet.
Spread a couple spoonfuls of the alfredo sauce on the crusts.
Core and slice the pears and place in a layer on the crust.

Place the thin layers of proscuitto over the pears.

Sprinkle a light layer of feta cheese over the other layers.

Then, I sprinkled a very small portion of shredded mozarella over everything, just to take it over the top.

Then you bake them in the oven for approx 9 minutes.

Drew, NO PEEKING!!

Once the cheese melts and starts to brown, remove.
Then add a layer of arugala over all the other crazy goodness.

Try not to inhale it.  Cause you could choke, and that would be bad.

It's sweet, salty, crunchy and creamy.

And yes, my husband has declared this his new favorite food.

I admit.  It's the best pizza I've ever had!

Mrs. Smith Signature Deep Dish Pies ~

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Mrs. Smith's. All opinions are 100% mine.

MrsSmith.jpg

Hiya babies!

Hope you're having a good week!

I don't know about where you are, but here, it's still bitterly cold and dreary.

Haven't seen the sun in SO long.

It's this time of year that I crave comfort food.

I love a nice warm, sweet pie on a cold Winters night.

Except, I'm awful at making them.  Can't make a pie crust to save my life.

So, I love picking up a nice frozen pie and throwing it in the oven while we eat dinner.

I've always loved Mrs. Smiths pies.

Mrs. Smith's Signature Deep Dish pies

Pie is good, but deep dish?  Even better!  And these pies come with a delicious topping

My family and I would devour the Apple pie.

It comes with caramel sauce.

Oh my.

I would serve this with some praline ice cream.

Our next favorite would be Pumpkin pie.

This one comes with a cream cheese frosting.

I would add toasted pecans and serve with whipped cream

Oh, yum!!

I love that these are deep dish.  Especially the pumpkin since I love to eat the pumpkin center and forgo the crust.  Tell me you don't do that too!

I especially love these pies around the holidays.

Such a time save for those of us who just don't have time to spend making pies all day.

Please be sure to visit Mrs. Smith's on Pinterest.

And 'like' them on Facebook.

Ok, now I REALLY want some Mrs. Smith's pie.

Maybe for dessert tonight!!

XOXO

Powder room makeover ~

Hiya babies!

Having a good weekend??

I've been busy making over our powder room.

Here is the small space before:

Blah, blah... and blah.
Beige and brown blahness.

On New Years Day, I painted the cabinet and added hardware.

Yesterday, I added beadboard wallpaper and a 3 inch strip of MDF.
Took down the all the brushed nickel hardware and spray painted it ORB.
Even the lighting.

Look at the pretty white baseboards.
{SWOON}

I found the cute little shelf on an online yard sale for $10.

Extra TP, hand towels and a few pretties.

I love all the white with the ORB hardware.

I've always loved the wallpaper I used on the risers of the stairs.

So I framed it.

My shell and sea glass collection.
Most of it from Cape Cod.

All in one weekend.

Now, my focus turns to the upstairs rooms.

I'm already tired just thinking about it

XOXO
